AgentOffice®
compared to Top Producer®
We are asked this question all the time. For your
convenience we have put together a simple and easy to
understand comparison between Top Producer 6i, 7i+ and
AgentOffice, desktop and running online. These are the
biggest differences....
Top Producer 6i®-
originally developed several years ago, TP6i is the only
remaining "desktop" application for Top Producer.
Development ceased around 2000 and the product is no longer
supported or viable.
Top Producer 7i®,
8i®, - online
application - monthly charges apply for users and an annual
contract must be in place.
AgentOffice®
- Desktop software with full back up and export
capability. Can be run online if wanted/needed.
This is optional with AgentOffice software. Monthly
per user fees apply to run online.
Features: Both packages are
real estate specific and help you manage your client
contacts, create activity plans and set them to
automatically keep in touch with your prospects and clients.
Both provide capabilities to do CMA's, and sync with your
PDA's, and network with other users, however with Top
Producer there is a module concept (you purchase these
features as additional options) where with AgentOffice these
are all part of the basic software package and price.
Ease of Use: There is no doubt according to users,
that AgentOffice is easier to learn and use. We speak
daily to users of both packages and the information we have
been given is that Top Producer does have a steep learning
curve and it is often necessary to purchase training in
order to fully understand the software capabilities.
AgentOffice is very user friendly, easy to install, set up
and learn without any training aids. A full set of
training DVD's are available for US$199.00 if you feel these
would be handy to have available as your business grows, and
your staff/assistants change. Instructor led training
is also available.
Networking in the Office:
AgentOffice comes networkable, out of the box, for the
registered user and 2 assistants. That means that
within a cabled (networked) office, 6 people sharing the
same database can be up and running as soon as you receive
your software.
Top Producer sells a network version for an additional cost.
Reports from previous users indicate that switching over to
the networked version is a time consuming issue,
particularly with larger databases.
Import/Export Capabilities:
It is important to discuss with Top Producer BEFORE you
purchase or sign up, what data you will be allowed to take
with you if you decide to leave the system. TP 6i and
TP7i are both encrypted to prevent you exporting your data
ANYWHERE. All you will be able to export to other
standard windows programs or applications will be BASIC
CONTACT information. Names, Phone Numbers, email
addresses. Your history, notes, listings, letters and
all other information is not exportable. Top Producer
does allow full import from other standard windows products,
such as AgentOffice, Maximizer and ACT. It is only the
export capability that is restricted.
Import: TP does reformat common
ASCII files (of names and addresses for example) to match
their parameters if you are wanting to import. There
is an additional charge for this.
AgentOffice is standard windows programming and there are no
limitations on your data recovery. You can take your
data anytime, either from your desktop application, or if
you are running online with eagentserver.net and transport
that data into Access, Excel, Outlook and yes, even Top
Producer.
Import: The same - in AgentOffice you simply tell your
import where you want it to go (set fields) and data comes
in quickly and easily.
Online Application: Top Producer runs on its own
unique server system. User volume and database size
does affect speed and in particular the ability to print.
Depending on volume you can experience delays and slowness.
AgentOffice online server set up is not affected by the
number of users you have on the system at any time, or by
the size of your database.
Top Producer plus - online in 7i it can interact with a
website. AgentOffice does not provide this capability.
Top Producer 7i also requires that you commit to a legally
binding one-year at a time contract. AgentOffice
online requires 30-days notice in writing to terminate the
service and they assist you in recovering all your data for
no charge.
Backing Up: Time wise, AgentOffice is much
faster and back up files take up less space than a Top
Producer.
Cost: AgentOffice is the most cost effective
solution. With the "all in one" concept, you ar e
getting everything that Top Producer offers, but for one
basic, when you first buy, price. To add network
capability, Palm sync, or Marketing CMA's you need to
purchase additional modules in Top Producer. If
you are running online with AgentOffice, your monthly per
user fee is less expensive.
Limited Loads: AgentOffice allows you to load
your software on as many computers and you want. That
means all 6 initial licensees can be running at home, the
office, on their laptops and PDA's for no additional cost.
As long as you have your CD's you can install over and over
again. You can add assistants anytime.
Top Producer has had a limited loads policy - whereby after
you have loaded 3 times, you must contact them to purchase
or arrange for additional loads.
